Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Access to Justice ("we", "us", "our") provides AI-powered tools to help people understand and navigate legal and administrative processes in England and Wales, including but not limited to family court proceedings and Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) processes. Our current products are Family Court and SEND (together, the "Services").

Access to Justice is a trading name of Vilam Vuong, a sole trader based in England. Our address is 18 Frinsted Road, Erith, DA8 3JX. Our website is accesstojustice.cc. "Access to Justice" is a trading name, not a separate incorporated company.

2. What we are — and what we are not

This is the most important section of these Terms. Please read it carefully.

Access to Justice is not a solicitor, barrister, McKenzie Friend, or any other kind of legal representative. We do not provide regulated legal advice or representation.

Our Services help you understand legal processes, terminology, and procedure; understand documents relevant to your case; and prepare first drafts of documents, for you to review and finalise yourself. Because our Services work with the details of your situation, the explanations, document assistance, and drafting support we give will often be shaped by your specific circumstances — that is not the same thing as legal advice. The distinction is this:

If you need advice about your specific situation, you should speak to a qualified solicitor, a Citizens Advice service, a relevant charity, or another appropriately qualified professional. Nothing in our Services should be relied upon as a substitute for that advice.

Document processing has real limitations. Our Services can read and process text-based documents reliably. Scanned documents, photographs, and image-only files may not always be accurately read or fully understood, and this technology (optical character recognition) is not yet built into every part of our Services. A document being successfully uploaded does not mean every part of it has been read, checked, or understood — if accuracy matters for your situation, review the document yourself or have a professional review it.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By using our Services, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account details secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Free trial. New accounts get 7 days of free access from the date you sign up, with no card required. This trial period is tracked from your account creation date, not from any later payment step.

Subscribing. If you choose to subscribe, the price is currently £35.00 per month, billed monthly. Subscribing is a separate step from starting your free trial, and you will need to provide payment details to do so. Payment is taken immediately and in full when you subscribe — there is no additional trial or delay applied at the payment step itself, even if you subscribe during your free trial period. The price will always be shown to you clearly before you confirm.

Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card details ourselves.

Cancelling. You can cancel your subscription at any time from within your account. If you cancel, you will not be charged again, but we do not provide refunds for the current billing period already paid for, except where required by law or as set out below.

Your statutory cancellation rights. When you subscribe, you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel in accordance with applicable consumer law. If you ask us to begin providing the Services immediately during that period, you may still cancel within the 14 days, but you may be required to pay for the Services supplied up to the point you cancel, to the extent permitted by law. After the applicable cancellation period, you can cancel your subscription at any time, with cancellation taking effect in accordance with the billing and cancellation terms shown when you subscribe.

7. If you are in crisis or immediate danger

Our Services are not an emergency service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999. If you are experiencing domestic abuse, you can contact the National Domestic Abuse Helpline. If you are struggling with your mental health, you can contact Samaritans. Our Services may point you toward these and similar resources, but we cannot guarantee an immediate human response through our own platform, and you should not rely on us in an emergency.

8. No guarantee of outcome

We do not guarantee any particular outcome in your legal matter. Legal processes are affected by many factors outside our control, including the decisions of courts, tribunals, and other parties. Using our Services is not a guarantee that your case will succeed.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses that result from your failure to use the Services appropriately, your failure to check or verify information or drafts provided by the Services, or decisions you make based on information provided by the Services without obtaining appropriate professional advice where that is reasonably required.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or liability arising from rights you have under applicable consumer law.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will let you know of material changes before they take effect.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be handled by the courts of England and Wales. This does not remove any right you have as a consumer to bring proceedings in your own country of residence, or any other mandatory legal right you're entitled to that this section cannot lawfully override.

12. Your data

How we collect and use your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy at accesstojustice.cc/privacy, which forms part of these Terms.

13. Contact us
